Hello Human Being.
This week’s theme is: Threshold
(Hosted by The Daily Post)
“A threshold is a point of entering;
that point just before a new beginning — that split-second moment in time, full of anticipation.
All the hard work is over; relief is palpable.“
This is a photo of the gates at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia.
(This image was shot on my honeymoon in 2010 and edited for this week’s challenge.)
“He had the vague sense of standing on a threshold, the crossing of which would change everything.”
― Kate Morton, The Forgotten Garden
If you’ve never had the opportunity, I highly recommend visiting Bonaventure Cemetery. It is by far the most beautiful cemetery I’ve ever seen. To add to the allure of this magical and ancient burial ground, I’m a die-hard fan of the book and movie “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” by John Berendt.
The following are additional photos that I could not pass up sharing, also shot in 2010, and edited in 2014. I believe that each of these images depicts a sort of “threshold”.
